Attended the Diversity Career Fair today. What a stark difference in attitude I had today compared to last year's career fair. Last year, I perceived career fairs as only enticing opportunities to get free pens, folders, bouncing balls and frisbees.. where I could walk around to different company booths and swipe as much candy as I could. Never mind the job/internship opportunities that were being offered, because that was boring and the least of my worries.

No more of that nonsense this year.. I know that finding an internship for this summer is my crucial stepping stone to finding a semi-permanent corporate job as soon as I graduate next year (hopefully). Sigh, it was helpful talking to a lot of the different corporate representatives today though. Although the atmosphere was a little intimidating, I did get a better sense of what I want and not want to do in my future.

Yea, I did get some cool free stuff too. Lot of pens again, an electronic bouncing ball (which kyu took from me later), some pain relievers, and a packet of mints I got from the Merrill Lynch table. I've been eating the mints like candy for the past couple hours, and I don't feel too good right now. Maybe the pain relievers will help.

Went bowling last night with a lot of people, which was a lot of fun. I can't wait to go again. John, let me know when you're gonna get bowling shoes!

Today I received an email from the FBI regarding the internship that I applied for a couple weeks ago. I will highlight in bold the words that troubled me:

Congratulations: You have been selected as an alternate for
an interview with the FBI. If you are unable to get a slot,
please go to our website at fbijobs.com.

There you will find a complete description of the Special
Agent position. Read it carefuully. If you qualify, you may
apply directly on-line, and we will contact you to start the
application process.

Thank you,

Martin Mijalski, Specail Agent.

There is this magical baby at church.. Heidi. She is one of the cutest, most adorable babies I have ever seen. I felt so great because she smiled this really huge, eye-sparkling, toothless smile for me. I can't wait to see her and hold her again next week.. should I gain clearance from heidi's second mom, jahndee. =)

Took a four hour nap today when I got back from church. After I woke up, I put on my glasses and turned on the TV, but for some reason, everything was incredibly blurry. I figured that it was from the effects of taking such long of nap that my vision was still trying to recover. Half an hour passes by, and everything is still blurry as heck. I go to the bathroom to put on my contacts, and so I proceed to take off my glasses. Lo and behold, everything becomes super clear! I swear I thought God granted me perfect vision while I was taking my nap.. but it took me two seconds to realize that I was wearing my contacts the entire time. I am a retard.

Sigh, sorry for the inconsistency in updates. I just found out that they shipped my motherboard yesterday, although I ordered it last saturday.. so I'll be computer-less for a bit longer.

The day before yesterday, me and paul went over to piedmont to go feed/visit my frogs. Hmm, I don't think I ever wrote anything about my frogs yet. To be specific, they're African black-eared mantella frogs which are about the size of a fingernail, and they look like this. Hannah owns two named Chiquito and Sunkist, Esther has one named Gomez, and I have two named Potty ("pot belly" for short) and Clover. There was a really scary moment when Clover jumped out of the tank and landed on the carpet. It didn't help much because the carpet was brown, and little brown clover would have been camouflaged forever. Thank God hannah found him and picked him up before jennifer almost stepped on him.

Jennifer has a different kind of frog, Fobby, which looks like this. hahah kidding. Jennifer asked me if I could pick up her frog and play with it. After hannah placed fobby on my hand, he proceeded to climb all over until he finally sat down. Then he released a powerful jet-stream of pee that sprayed my hand and hit the other side of the glass tank. We were all shocked because we didn't know that frogs could pee with so much force, like the force of a super-soaker. That is the last time I will ever play with fobby.

Went to the RSF a couple days ago with heuge, roach, paul and john.. dinner with paul.. hung out at capri with andy, kwan, billy and charles. I am blessed to know so many hot guys. Had a good talk with andy that day about different stuff. Pastor Eugene came over later and it was fun hearing him play the guitar.

Yesterday, heuge was eagerly showing his "affection" for me until we heard a loud R-I-I-I-P. I looked down and saw a huge hole where the back pocket of my jeans should have been. Geez, buff guy doesn't know his own strength! Luckily, he is also a motherly guy and offered to stitch up the hole for me.

FiCB tonight, 7pm, 145 Dwinelle!

I despise computers. I despise cars. Especially when both are broken.

Mood of the moment: sad

Sad that my stay at home has finally ended. Less than eleven hours before it's time to go back to bezerkely and live the hell all over again. Hahah, I'm kidding.. it'll be great seeing old faces again, enjoying the beautiful weather of northern california, reuniting with the illegal cable I have in the apartment...

.. getting used to cooking/burning my food again..
.. stressing to find an internship...
.. buying books for the new semester..
.. that's right.. the new semester. sigh..

Can someone please slash the tires on my car so I don't have to drive up tomorrow.

Here's a really inappropriate statement..I altered her screen name for confidentiality purposes:

ChEEnDi: and guys get all grossed otu when i touch other girls' boobs

Yes, she is a girl. Whose boyfriend miraculously survived a crazy jump from snowboarding this past saturday. I hope your arm heals properly bro!

I recently got a crown for the tooth that I had to get a root canal for a couple weeks ago. Now that the nerve in that tooth is dead, I'm so fascinated whenever I brush my teeth with really cold water. For the past two years, I always made sure the water was lukewarm before I rinsed my mouth. Rinsing with too cold or too hot water would give me excruciating pain because of that open nerve. Now I can rinse with freezing water from the Arctic and not feel pain! Now I can carelessly chew ice cubes with both sides of my mouth! I am a free man again!

Going snowboarding tomorrow for the last time this winter break. noOOooOOo

Today was a glorious day. Roach and jahndee came to visit downey, and I can confidently say that they left feeling very impressed with the city and what it had to offer. Roach, jahndee, linda, and I went to Pete's Patio for lunch, which is this really good mexican restaurant. Jahndee and roach were very impressed with the excellent food and clean utensils, shattering their preconceived notions of a dirty and polluted bum-town. We then went to our beloved Stonewood Mall, showed them all the cool and amazing stores, but had to drag roach and jahndee out kicking and screaming because they didn't want to leave.

Jahndee left early afterwards.. me, roach, linda and sharon went to go watch "Adaptation." A really really smart and clever movie, but I agree with nancy: the movie leaves you with such a weird feeling afterwards. I still would rather be an archer when I grow up. We drove around to find this specific bing-soo place in cerritos, but we just ended up eating a box of mochi ice cream that linda bought at this korean supermarket. (mochi ice cream > bing-soo)

Next time, ask jahndee to describe "tennis balls" for you. She's very good at vividly describing things using obscene hand gestures. ;)

Finally watched Lord of the Rings II today! Let's just say that I want to be an archer when I grow up.
And bad news for many of you girls out there.. I was told that Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen) is gay in real life. He brought his beautiful boyfriend to the Emmy's last year, or something like that. After I heard that, the image I had of him as a manly sword-fighting, mighty king figure died. Man, I hope I forget that he's gay by the time the final movie in the LOTR trilogy comes out, or it just won't be the same.

Had a wonderful New Year's Day spent with my family and relatives. Simply, I find myself appreciating and cherishing my family, cousins, aunts and uncles more and more as I grow older. I know I still have a long ways to go before gaining an adequate understanding of the sacrifices they made and love they have for me, and it's my deepest passion to give them my love and care that they truly deserve.

On another note, I went snowboarding today at Mt. High with a couple friends, Cindy and Andy. Man, it was great because I finally learned how to carve. It sure beats going on your heels all the way down the slopes. After seven straight hours of boarding, we finally left and drove hurridly to this soon doo boo place in cerritos (it's a cow-town I tell ya!). We were talking about how profitable it would be to set up a soon doo boo restaurant right near Mt. High. Or even better, setting up soon doo boo stations on various parts on the slopes! I would go to every station for sure. Andy said that he would pay up to $15 for a bowl if such a business venture existed. I thought that was incredulous, but that price doesn't seem impractical anymore. Considering that soon doo boo is today's equivalent to manna. =)
