Sigh. Leaving home by 6am tomorrow morning. Where have these last few days disappeared to..

Random Thought: Instead of working on my finance project, I was sitting in my chair listening to the Mr. Holland's Opus soundtrack for the last hour. Mr. Holland's Opus was such a good movie! Rating the sentimental, feel-good factor, it's up there with Forrest Gump and The Lion King.
Wow, it's raining outside right now. And I'm home indoors. A perfect opportunity to further procrastinate from my schoolwork by updating with another entry. (I am so dead guys)

Thanksgiving was a simple, comfortable one. I got to see some of my guy cousins, who out of nowhere, grew four inches since the last time we met. They're both way taller than I am now, but it makes me happy that they grew in their maturity too. My mom and my aunt cooked all day yesterday.. and yep, they brought out all the wondrous traditional thanksgiving food, as well as some korean gal-bi-jjeem. OH MAN! So dinner was really good, fellowship with the family and relatives was really good.. reminding me once again of God's divine providence over my life, His perfect love, and how He will be good forever.

My other little cousins are over now.. Debora and Christopher! I wish I could speak Korean as well as they could..I hear them singing along to the Dragon Tales cartoon right now. I hope they stay cute forever. I'm going to go play with them some more.. school? School can wait.. I have better things to do. ;)

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. =)

Hello Downey!

Tuesday, November 26, 2002

Goodbye Berkeley!
Found out my thanksgiving weekend will be completely overwhelmed with schoolwork. Two psychology projects to write up. Finance project to write up. Psychology midterm to study for.

On the other hand, I have a nostalgic city, however super-ghetto, to come back to. Old friends to visit and play with. Home church to come back to and worship in. Awesome family members and relatives to reunite with.

Home is gonna be great.

ps. For you grammar-sensitive readers, sorry for ending 90% of these sentences with prepositions. But happy thanksgiving (soon!). =)

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light." Matthew 11:28-30

I've forgotten.

Tonight was the night of the big annual thanksgiving dinner/fellowship. Geewon's small group had dinner and fellowship with jenny myung's small group. Wow, I have to give big props to rob for preparing the turkey and the stuffing mostly by himself. I went over to jenny myung's place beforehand to help make some last minute dishes, but it didn't seem like I was of any help. I just made unhealthy vegetable-oil-soaked potatoes. Jenny and her small group girls were professionally taking over the kitchen and using all these cooking lingo terms that I wasn't familiar with.. but it was fun. =)

Then everyone headed over to rob's place. Prayed, ate ridiculously-awesome food, and generally had a good time of fun. Correction: not good time, but great time. People are awesome.

Visited jahndee and susan's lair little later in the evening, and wow..I'll just say that it was a "where's waldo" kind of experience. Hahah, you guys can ask them yourselves. I don't want to say anything that'll jeopardize any chance of them landing a guy in the future.

Goin back to downey in two days! TWO days!

OH what a glorious day it is for the cailfornia golden bears!! Went to watch the CAL vs. STANFORD BIG GAME game today.. and man, did we rock... 30-7 fellas! Such energy throughout the entire game.. After Cal scored their first touchdown in the first quarter, excitement erupted everywhere...and then someone threw up on a girl a couple rows behind me. O_o That, along with stanfurd's offense and defense, were the only things that stunk the whole day. In the fourth quarter, everyone started rushing the field while there was still 11 seconds on the clock, but Stanford didn't care so they just let the clock run down.

I actually got to exchange high-fives with a lot of the football players when I rushed onto the field. They seemed larger-than-life when I was up close to them, but huege, john song and snohman were just as big and muscular as they were, so it's not a big deal.

I got a sore throat from yelling too much. Read this.

Bear territory!
It was our last ficb tonight. I can't believe how quickly this semester passed by already. Dave Shin and Jane Kwon gave a missions testimony of their trip to Tibet, and it was really awesome. Especially their slide show.. it was beautiful. I knew He was speaking to me. Honestly, I never felt so much towards missions until starting this semester. The idea of going on missions was the least of my concerns during my first two years in college, let alone praying for other missionaries. But since this past summer...I feel different. I don't want to make any personal vows or anything, but I hope to let go of myself and let God work through me in any way He pleases.. Be thou my vision, O Lord of my heart.

After ficb, our junior class had a time of praise/prayer at capri. I thought more and more... of how much I'm going to miss all of them after college is over. And how much I should take advantage of the time that is given to me now.

Got pablo's permission to link his blog here. His Nov 21st entry was very jacked, yet insightful. Brutal, yet suave. I thought it was hilarious.

He demands so much..

isithotorjustme: and update your blog
isithotorjustme: i want something substantial

Like what, o wise one?

isithotorjustme: like mine about ugly people

Yeah, Paul is a real mean guy. But his analysis was really funny.

ps. Paul is a nice guy. =)

Going to the BIG GAME THIS SATURDAY! The oldest rivarly on the West Coast, Cal vs. Stanford. showdown...

It's even more intense this year, as it marks the twentieth anniversary of the historic, legendary, last play-of-the-game that led the Bears to victory. Yea you guessed it, it's appropriately coined THE PLAY. If you haven't seen it yet and even if you're not a Cal fan, check it out here and be amazed.

Gosh, it feels great to be up early in the morning! Had to get up at 7am because I took julie oh to the airport. Now I'm back and happy that I have a full day ahead of me.

Crap, I forgot I had an 8 'o'clock lecture. My morning is ruined. Well, not really.
Hahah..

Don't you guys just love the rectangular french-bread pepperoni pizzas they sell at costco? You guys know what I'm talkin about. I'm sure your mom or dad have at least bought a couple boxes and stacked them in the freezer at home. I think eating one is just not enough.

I just opened up another pizza. Hmm, I didn't see any pepperoni. I lifted the pizza and I found three pieces of pepperoni frozen to the bottom. =(

Sigh...where is winter vacation when you need it most..
I went to la burrita for lunch today. I bought the small-sized carne asada instead the large that I usually get. I was really full after I ate it too..I'm afraid that my stomach is getting smaller and I can't eat as much as I used to in freshman and sophomore year. Or maybe it was because I ate dinner at 2am again last night? Anyways, this was a retarded post.

phatyum is cool. =)
Went to costco earlier today with pablo, kwan and kristy. I was really excited because I thought I would save so much money by getting gas there, instead of getting it at the local chevron. But in the end, it turned out that I only saved a dollar. But it's okay, I had their awesome hot dog and soda meal for only $1.50!

Paul is the worst person you can have to sit in the passenger seat. I'm glad he has his own car.

Oh yea, one more thing... When I was walking through the campus to go home (early evening), I saw Sather Gate decorated with bright white and blue christmas lights. It was a really nice sight..reminded me that Christmas is just around the corner. Not to be sappy or anything, but hope you guys get to see it soon.
Reached an all-time low: first meal of the day at 6:47pm.

Don't tell my mom please; she'll spaz out.
I woke up feeling really tired and groggy this morning. I know it's because I ate a meal at 1am last night. why? I have a theory, that when you eat really late and then go to bed, your body is still awake while your conscious mind isn't. Your stomach is busy digesting away all the food you ate, because you have a messed-up eating schedule where every meal is overdue by three or four hours (sorry, "you" is actually "i"). kinda make sense? Stupid bbq chicken burger..
Thoughts on the guys in my class? weird..random...creative jackers....but overall, hahah.. very lovable.

I really want to learn how to play the drums. I only know one stinkin beat. Eric, our drummer for worship team, is ridiculously good... I asked him for some advice, and his response?

"Yea, it's really easy man...drums are so easy...cake... You know what you should do? Just think of a beat and play it"

This didn't help me in any way. I think I just felt more discouraged and incompetent. just kidding bro. =)
Had a really really fun and relaxed day today. after praise practice, I met up with my small group and julie oh's small group for the barbeque at this park in walnut creek. FiCBers, remember that park where we had that picnic in the summer, with the bay right there and the playground? So that's where we went.. and wow, there was so much good food, like galbee, chicken, salad, cookies, cheesecake, and so on. The weather was incredible too...made the view so serene. Came home, took a quick nap, then went to go watch "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" with a lot of people. WOW, I really liked the movie a lot! even though it was incredibly long. I wish I could become a wizard, carry around a wand, and speak with a really cool english accent. I think english accents are the best.

I had a really good talk with gower today about which places are really good to eat. Spenger's Grotto, Crepevine, Cafe Venezia...dangit, where else? I should have wrote them down immediately when I got home. Hahah..it was funny of how long we talked about food.

Go watch Harry Potter if you haven't yet already!

Saturday, November 16, 2002

Hahah, no steakhouse tonight. =P Went to in-n-out with the small group, watched the lakers beat the warriors, and played a lot of video games later. Perfect guy-bonding session.

Friday, November 15, 2002

Wow, my finance quiz covered material that the professor didn't even go over in lecture yet. We complained to our GSI, but he just muttered something incomprehensible in his broken english. Got rocked really badly.

Trying to forget the past...but thanks anyways carolina!

g0LdFiShEe 27: oooh. nice. you got a ticket
g0LdFiShEe 27: congratulations
boy52: haha sucks
boy52: im such a retard
g0LdFiShEe 27: dude... getting a ticket doesn't make you a retard
g0LdFiShEe 27: sucking up your cd player remote makes you a retard

time to eat! =)
It's noon...I'm at school and I can't wait till tonight. Tonight is small group night, and I think we're going to go eat somewhere really good, maybe a steakhouse? Then tomorrow, we're having a small group fellowship with julie oh's group by busting out the meat and having a barbeque. Food brings us oh so close together.

Anyways, there's a group project meeting and a finance quiz that I have to endure first..

TGIF!
made potatoes for dinner tonight. cut finger in the process. ow.

In my five years as a safe and experienced driver, today marks a dark day in my automotive history. I got my first ticket ever, eliminating any hope of retaining a perfect driving record for the rest of my life (which was one of my life goals..seriously!). Well okay, it wasn't a speeding ticket or anything serious like that. I got a stupid parking ticket for parking in that little campus lot across from the library. And it's not the ticket that's making me feel retarded, but the fact that this whole thing could have been prevented. Hahah, by the way, for those who are confused of why one would get a ticket for parking in a parking lot, it's because I don't have one of those campus parking permits which you need to park anywhere on campus.

dangit, so it was around 7:15 when I drove into campus, and before I reached the parking lot, I saw the campus parking enforcement guy driving around in his little parking enforcement car. Since he was driving in the direction away from the parking lot, I figured that he was done for the night and wouldn't come around to check for illegally parked cars. Besides, I just needed to print out a couple pages from the computing center.

parked, got out, ran to computer center, printed, and ran back out.. it was about 7:25. yep, great move, murphy's law proves itself once again as I saw flashing orange lights in the parking lot. i was thinking, "maybe he didnt check my car yet.." so i ran quickly to my car and to my relief, I didn't see any bright paper on my windshield! turned on the ignition and burned rubber...I saw the guy in my rearview mirror too, and we caught each other's eyes as I drove away..take that sucka!

My victory was short-lived when the lights from the campanile illuminated a yellow envelope stuck beneath my windshield wipers. In my haste, I pulled over in a handicap parking space (yea, i'm on a roll today) and pulled out the envelope, which enclosed a parking ticket. i drove home sadly.

Well anyways, I feel humbled by this experience, even though it's really retarded. It's about time i got a ticket because I parked in that lot about 6, 7 times already. Geez, I surprised I haven't gotten one sooner. On the plus side, I'm happy that I had something to write about in my blog. =)

So okay, I declare that I am the worst person when it comes to updating my blog consistently. Or updating at all. Who knows, this might be my last entry until i wait a couple months again, when by then, I will feel like the biggest retard when I read back on this entry. dangit! Even roacha updated his blog before I did...his last statement about "liking girls who wear overalls" rings through my head whenever i visit his page. check him out ladies! http://alex_is_my_name.blogspot.com/

Hmm..I hope to learn how to post links on this page and those cool message stuff later..

I'm really sad because I woke up so late today..2 in the afternoon. It was because last night, I was playing scrabble online with kwan and little hannah in this really ghetto website. We tried to find the scrabble game under yahoogames, but no luck. So we found this website that hosted scrabble, but you cant chat with each other while you play (they disable that function if you're not registered with the website), and it was just overall superghetto. Not only that, kwansoo leaves the room unexpectedly (he told me later that he accidentally pressed the power button on his computer), and the server crashes thirty minutes into the game. But it was really fun though while it lasted. Anyone want to play later?

12th week of classes...almost over. can't believe it. Paul and heuge went home for the weekend today, those lucky jerks. I really want to go home..

andychon, you couldnt have written a more selfish email. lates! =)
